Bumgarner Star-Tribune Staff Writer Sylvia Dean Stephens-D’Angelo holds the patent she received from the U.S. government for her scripture speaking card. Chatham, VA, October 22, 2003 A former Tightsqueeze resident has invented and patented a “scripture speaking card” aimed at spreading the Good Word. Sylvia Dean Stephens-D’Angelo of Newport News said she invented the card because :God spoke to me and gave me the gift.” “It was a time when I was asking God what my purpose was in life,” said Stephens-D’Angelo. Her vision came to her through God’s voice in March 30, 2001. Stephens-D’Angelo said God said to her on that day “Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a scripture talking card for others?”
