When renting a car it is not enough just to find a company and pay for it. To get the best deal there are some steps to follow:

1. Find three or four car rental agencies that suit you needs and wants. You can do that either by looking in the phonebook; or maybe even better on the internet. Always scan all the possible firms before you pick one. You do not want to miss the best offer you because you got bored in the middle of the investigation.

2. When you are contacting the car rental agency, you should ask about all the following: rates, special rates, special offers, availability, location, pickup sites, insurance, hotel and airline partnerships and extra charges. The more you can think about, the better is the chance that you can get a lower price or a more convenient car rental.

3. The pickup should not be a hassle, so find a pickup point that is acceptable for you. Sometimes the car rental agencies will pay for a cab or pick you up at your house or in the airport and drive you to the rental.

4. Pick the right sized car. If the whole family is driving with you, you might need a large car, while a small car is enough, if you are travelling alone. Most car rental agencies charge extra for the larger models.

5. When you have decided which car to rent, you must remember to book it. Some agencies put the reservation fee on the overall rent, while other makes it out as an extra fee. Always look of for this when renting a car.

So the way to get a car rental that you will be satisfied with is to choose the best car rental firm, ask all the questions, find a pickup location, choose the right car size and make the booking. If you do so, you are pretty sure to get a good car hire.
