Covert vehicle tracking is not something that civilians used to engage in as it used to be reserved for military service. With all the forms of car theft and carjacking happening though nowadays, civilians need to be able to protect themselves from criminals who may target their cars. Covert vehicle tracking has become essential even to just the average citizen. Basically it is a way of tracking a vehicle and determining where it is exactly, without the driver having to be aware that the car is being tracked. A special vehicle tracking system is installed and used in order to be able to do this.
These type of occurrences are what made covert vehicle tracking so essentially useful nowadays especially to the average citizen. Covert vehicle tracking is the process of tracking and determining a certain vehicle’s location via a vehicle tracking system in such a way that the driver of the vehicle is not made aware that he or she is being tracked. An obvious real world application of such a concept is the pinpointing of the location of a stolen vehicle by law enforcers. Unlike before when vehicle tracking simply meant dangerous interstate car chases, vehicle tracking nowadays uses methods that are so inconspicuous the culprits won’t even know they are already being followed until it is too late.
The pinpointing of the location of a stolen vehicle by law enforcers is an obvious real world application of this concept. Vehicle tracking nowadays is uses methods that are so inconspicuous, the culprits won’t even know that they are being followed until it’s too late. That’s a far cry from before when vehicle tracking simply meant dangerous interstate chases. The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System is a good example this kind of system that tracks stolen vehicles. A small indistinct transmitter is used and installed in a random location inside the vehicle. Even in plain sight, it is unlikely to be detected because the transmitter looks like a regular car component.
Several police jurisdictions are already using the LoJack as their primary form of vehicle tracking system. Upon receiving a report of a stolen vehicle, the transmitter for that particular vehicle is automatically activated, and an accurate location of the transmitter and, hopefully, the vehicle is provided to the police. The LoJack uses radio frequency to send from the transmitter to the remote controller.
